“Free” means very different things across these apps. Here is what each free tier gives you before it asks for money.

Every reply from a large language model costs the app money. Apps either cap free messages, slow them down with queues, show ads, use smaller models or shrink memory. When a site promises unlimited free adult chat with no account, ask how it pays for that, and who runs it.
In practice: a small paid plan with a clear price often costs less than the coins and tokens you buy after a “free” start. SpicyChat’s $5.95 tier removes ads and queues without adding tokens.
SpicyChat keeps a large library of user-made characters open on its free tier. Reviewers report about 2,000 messages a day, roughly 4,000 tokens of memory and short replies, with ads and queues at busy times. Paid tiers cost $5.95, $19.95 and $29.95 a month since 8 September 2026. In 26 US states and four countries it asks for a video selfie before adult content. More in SpicyChat alternatives.
Janitor AI is free to browse and chat, but reply quality depends on the model behind it: you connect an API key from a model provider or use JanitorLLM. Both are built around paid plans. Candy AI lets you try a few messages and one image, then asks for €13.99 a month (about $15.70) or €47.88 a year (about $53.60). OurDream AI’s free tier is a few messages per character according to one source and 50 a day according to others; paid is $19.99 a month or $119.88 a year. naughti.ai does not publish a free tier. You register, then see the plans: €14.99 a month (about $16.79), €29.99 per 3 months (about $33.59) or €59.99 a year (about $67.19), with 30 credits a month. The terms list three things you can buy: a membership, keys that unlock a scenario and credits for premium video. A 48-hour single-scenario pass at €7.99 (about $9) is in the site’s code; I did not see it in the live checkout. Mostly no. Adult apps need an account to confirm you are 18 or over and to store your chats, and some states require age checks. naughti.ai, Candy AI, OurDream AI and SpicyChat all ask you to register before chatting. Be careful with sites that promise adult chat with no account and no age check.

Scenario pages show a start button without a price, so some content may be free, but I could not confirm how much.
Free does not mean private. Check who runs the app, where it is registered and what its privacy policy says about chats. Several free sites in this space do not name an operator at all. Prefer apps that publish a company name, address and a way to delete your data.
Usually yes. SpicyChat’s free and entry tiers are reported at about 4,000 tokens of memory against 16,000 on its top tier. Character.AI gives c.ai+ users better memory. Most other apps do not publish numbers, so treat claims of perfect memory with caution.
