- SpicyChat has the strongest free tier and plans from $5.95 a month. Janitor AI is free if you bring your own model.
- Token and coin apps cost more than their sticker price: reviewers put Candy AI at $25 to $60 a month in real use.

The rule that matters most for adults has not changed: Character.AI does not allow adult content for anyone, and c.ai+ ($9.99 a month or $94.99 a year) only adds speed, memory, voice and no ads. naughti.ai is the app made by the team behind this site, so read this section with that in mind. Its format is different from Character.AI: instead of an empty chat box, each scenario opens with a written scene, a premade character and choices that branch the story. There are about 50 scenarios on the homepage and a separate off-script chat with about 37 characters.

Candy AI, run by EverAI Limited in Malta, lets you build a companion’s looks, personality and voice, then chat, request images and turn images into short videos. Its own subscription page lists €13.99 a month after a €9.99 first month, €8.99 a month on a quarterly plan and €3.99 a month billed €47.88 a year (about $15.70, $10.10 and $53.60 converted). Premium includes 100 tokens a month, and images, voice and video spend them. The statement descriptor is “EverAI”. OurDream AI, from Dream Studio USA, Inc., costs $19.99 a month or $9.99 a month billed $119.88 a year, with unlimited messages and 1,000 dreamcoins a month. Reported coin costs: 50 coins a minute for voice calls and 100 coins for a 5-second video. That makes it strong for media and expensive if video is what you want.
SpicyChat has one of the largest libraries of user-made characters and a free tier with ads and queues. New prices took effect on 8 September 2026: $5.95, $19.95 and $29.95 a month (existing subscribers keep old prices). In 26 US states and in France, the UK, Italy and Australia it asks for a video selfie before adult content. More in SpicyChat alternatives.
JuicyChat offers user-made characters, images and coins, but its operator is not clearly stated and paid prices differ by source ($9.99 to $12.99 for the entry plan). In practice: if a discreet card statement matters to you, only Candy AI names its descriptor exactly. naughti.ai says only that a merchant name linked to it or its payment partners appears.

It depends on why you are leaving. For guided adult stories, naughti.ai starts you inside a written scene. For a companion you design yourself, Candy AI and OurDream AI are the closest fits. For a huge free library of community characters, SpicyChat is the usual pick. Character.AI itself allows no adult content, even for verified adults.
No. Character.AI does not allow adult content for any user, and paying for c.ai+ does not change that. Its help pages say the output is the same on the free and paid plans. Adults who want mature roleplay have to use an app built for it, such as the ones compared on this page. See what changed.
Not yet. Character Technologies filed for Chapter 11 on 12 October 2026 and is selling assets, with Disney as the opening bidder at $20 million for an IP licence. The app keeps running during the sale, but reports say it will be wound down if no buyer keeps it going. The sale is expected to close in late November or early December 2026.
SpicyChat has the most generous free tier I found, a daily message allowance with ads and queues. Janitor AI is free as a site but needs your own model key for good replies. Candy AI and OurDream AI give only a few free messages. naughti.ai does not publish what is free before sign-up.
Few apps publish real numbers. SpicyChat is the exception: reviewers report about 4,000 tokens of memory on free and entry tiers and up to 16,000 on its top tier. Candy AI reviewers report memory fading after two or three days. naughti.ai and OurDream AI do not publish memory sizes.
The sticker price is only the start on token apps. Candy AI is €13.99 a month (about $15.70) with 100 tokens, and reviewers put real spend at $25 to $60. OurDream AI is $19.99 with 1,000 coins, and video eats coins fast. SpicyChat has no tokens: $5.95 to $29.95 a month.
naughti.ai is run by NaughtiAI OÜ in Estonia and acts as a GDPR data controller. Its privacy policy says chats are not sold, are sent to AI model providers only to generate replies, and chat history is deleted or anonymised on request. Sales are final, so read the refund rules before you buy.
There is no official transfer to other apps. You can copy a character’s definition and greeting by hand and recreate it in apps that let you build characters, such as SpicyChat, Candy AI or OurDream AI. naughti.ai uses its own written scenarios, so you start a new story rather than import one. No. Character.AI has one version, and its content rules are the same on the free plan, c.ai lite and c.ai+: no adult content. Bots on Character.AI named “no filter” or “18+” are user-made characters that still run under the same filter. For adult roleplay, use an app built for it, such as the ones on this page.
Apps built for adults, such as naughti.ai, Candy AI, OurDream AI and SpicyChat, allow adult roleplay between adults. None of them has “no rules”: all ban content involving minors, and most ban real people and non-consent. Character.AI and general AI assistants do not allow adult content, and I do not cover filter bypasses.
For adult roleplay, almost none. Adult apps ask you to register so they can confirm you are 18 or older and keep your chat history, and some US states require age checks. Sites that promise adult AI chat with no account and no age check rarely say who runs them, so check the operator before you share anything.
