In practice: if you liked Janitor AI for its character library, SpicyChat feels most familiar. If you liked it for adult roleplay without restrictions, the built-in apps below allow it without a key.
SpicyChat has a big community library, a chatbot creator and character import, so you can bring characters over. Reported memory is about 4,000 tokens on free and entry tiers, 8,000 on True Supporter and 16,000 on I’m All In. Prices since 8 September 2026: $5.95, $19.95 and $29.95 a month. Age verification by video selfie applies in 26 US states and four countries.
naughti.ai skips the character-building step: each of about 50 scenarios opens with a scene and branching choices, and you can keep talking to characters off-script. It runs its own model, so there is no key to manage. You cannot create characters, and plans start at €14.99 a month (about $16.79). See my naughti.ai review.
CrushOn AI (reported operator Peekaboo Tech Inc.) is the cheapest built-in option at $5.99 a month for 2,000 messages, though sources disagree on its free tier and a Mozilla privacy warning has been cited against it. Candy AI, OurDream AI and JuicyChat generate images; SpicyChat adds images on its higher tiers. naughti.ai does not generate images but offers pre-made video clips per character. Janitor AI itself has no built-in images.
SpicyChat supports character import, and you can recreate a character anywhere that lets you write a description and greeting, such as Candy AI or OurDream AI. naughti.ai uses its own written scenarios, so there is nothing to import.
It depends on what bothers you. If it is setup and API keys, SpicyChat, naughti.ai, Candy AI and OurDream AI run their own models, so you just sign up. If you like choosing the model yourself, Janitor AI with your own key still gives the most control.
On Janitor AI, a proxy means connecting an outside AI model with your own API key, often through a service such as OpenRouter, instead of the free JanitorLLM. Users do it for better replies, but it means setup, a separate bill and errors when the provider limits you. I do not give setup instructions; apps with a built-in model skip this step.
