- You gain adult content, images, voice notes and video of your companion. You lose the community library, group chats, phone apps and a real free plan.
- Candy AI is €9.99 (about $11.19) for the first month, then €13.99 a month (about $15.70), or €47.88 a year (about $53.60), with 100 tokens a month. Daily image and video use pushes it to $25 to $60.
- If you want premade characters with adult content, Candy AI is the wrong tool; see the last section.

Candy AI includes 100 tokens a month and charges about $0.10 for each extra one. Candy does not publish every per-action cost; the estimates below use third-party figures (image 4 tokens, voice call 3 a minute, image-to-video 12) on the monthly plan, and count media only, not text messages.

Character.AI characters live in their description and greeting, so most of the personality survives a careful copy. Expect two differences. Candy AI is built around romantic and adult companions, so a character who was a mentor or a game master may drift that way unless you describe the role clearly. And memory works differently: Candy AI does not publish a memory size, and one review reports resets after 48 to 72 hours, so put key facts in the character’s description rather than relying on chat history.

Not directly. There is no official transfer between the two. Copy each character’s description, personality and greeting from Character.AI, then rebuild it in Candy AI’s companion builder by choosing a style, looks, personality and voice. SpicyChat is the alternative that supports character import.
No. Chat history stays in your Character.AI account. Character.AI says you can export your data in the app or on the website; do that first, especially with the Chapter 11 sale expected to close in late November or early December 2026.
Barely. Third-party reviews report about five messages, one custom character and one image before Candy AI asks you to subscribe. The first month is €9.99 (about $11.19), then €13.99 a month (about $15.70), or €47.88 a year (about $53.60).
Only once you are sure. Character.AI keeps subscriptions active during its bankruptcy sale. If you bought c.ai+ through the App Store or Google Play, cancel it there; deleting the app does not stop the subscription.
Images, voice and video spend tokens, so the bill depends on how much media you generate. Using third-party per-action figures and leaving text messages out, light use stays near $15.70 a month, regular use with images and calls is about $30, and heavy use with video reaches about $60. Reviewers report the same $25 to $60 range.
